Given the Coronavirus pandemic taking place we have made additional changes in how our stores operate. All stores will now be drive-thru only! Four of our stores already offered a drive-thru option, but we have now created drive-thru lanes at the 16^th St. store in Moline, Rock Island store, Locust St. store and 53^rd St. store in Davenport. Here how each store is going to work:

16^th Street Store in Moline: The order stand is set up by the door closer to Hungry Hobo. Please pull up in the line that is placed on the front parking spots in line with the store.

Rock Island Store: Come in around the patio from the side where Hungry Hobo is and you will be waited on at the side door. Employees will guide you were to go while waiting for your order.

53^rd Street in Davenport: Pull into the line around the patio and the order will be taken at the side door. After ordering/paying you will either veer left (if your order is done) or pull to the right down the alley and your order will be brought out to you through the backdoor.

Locust Street Store in Davenport: The line will be formed around the store starting closer to Marquette Street. The orders will be taken/filled on the side of the store closer to Subway/Grinders/Little Caesars.

The stores will have normal hours for the time being and employees will be on hand to answer any questions and help guide traffic. For hours and addresses, check out each location here. Thank you for your support during this time!

Starting today at 5:00 p.m. all drive-thru stores will be drive-thru only (this includes 41st Moline, Bettendorf, Eldridge and East Moline). All other stores will be carry-out only. 

Additionally, all stores will be closing at 10 p.m. CST on Friday and Saturday nights during this time. Also, our North Park store will be closed for business until restrictions are lifted. Thanks for continuing to come and support during this time and stay healthy!

Following the announcement regarding dine-in restaurants and bars being closed starting at 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, below are the changes happening at Whitey’s both in Illinois and Iowa:

• Stores will be take-away orders only with no immediate consumption. You can still come in to get your ice cream, but we ask that you do not eat it in the stores.

• We will no longer have chairs available in our stores and all patios will be shut down.

• The public bathrooms will be locked for safety and sanitary reasons.

We thank you for your continued loyalty, patience and understanding. We are working hard to continue to serve you while ensuring the safety and health of our employees and customers.

As our community continues to feel the increased impact of this viral pandemic (COVID-19), we feel it is important to share with you what we are doing to help keep people safe and healthy at our stores. We are doing everything we can to provide a safe and sanitary environment for our customers and employees.

Whitey’s has always taken every effort to ensure our stores and manufacturing plant are as clean as possible. We have even further heightened our cleaning and disinfecting procedures to continue to maintain a healthy environment.

We are going to do everything in our power to keep our stores open and everyone working, but there is of course the potential that additional changes may be implemented as the situation evolves in order to ensure employee and customer well-being. We will be sure to communicate these changes as they come about.

A few of the areas we are increasing our cleaning procedure to product our customers and employees:

• Encouraging tap payment and digital payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.).
• Implementing even more extensive cleaning/sanitizing of the stores.
• While there is no food-contact with hands, we are encouraging employees to wash their hands between each customer.
• We’ve instructed employees who are not feeling well to stay home and self-monitor their symptoms.

Our hearts go out to all who have been affected by this outbreak and we would like to thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate this challenging situation one day at a time and determine how best to continue serving our loyal customers.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2020 Flavor Contest! Below are the final four flavors as chosen by the Whitey’s Ice Cream Team. Vote to let us know which you think would be best!

As stated in the rules “If multiple suggestions of the same flavor idea are submitted and chosen as a winner, the first entry submitted will be selected.” We had 28 entries for Monster Cookie, 21 entries for Cinnamon Roll, 16 entries for Pineapple Upside Down Cake and 34 entries for Peanut Butter and Jelly. We picked the first suggestion that was closest to what we will create!

The Grand Prize winner will receive a $50 gift card and a 3-gallon of their creation. The winning flavor will be sold in our stores sometime in 2020. The runner up will receive a $25 Whitey’s Ice Cream gift card.

Spring flavors are back in stores starting today!  All of our most popular warm-weather flavors are back at all Whitey’s Ice Cream locations!

BANANA GRAHAM – Fresh banana ice cream with a graham cracker revel.

KEY LIME PIE – Lime flavored ice cream with graham cracker revel swirled throughout.

LEMON CUSTARD – Lemon flavored ice cream with egg yolks added for a richer flavor.

MANGO RASPBERRY – Tropical mango ice cream mixed with a sweet raspberry swirl.

SUPER BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE – Blueberry cheesecake flavored ice cream with blueberry swirls.

EXCITING NEWS… Whitey’s Ice Cream is now available at the TBK Bank Sports Complex! Cool down after breaking a sweat with a Mini Malt, Popsicle, Dixie Cup or Chipper at both the indoor and outdoor concession stands!
