July was packed with exciting events throughout the Quad Cities, and we were thrilled to be part of so many special moments. Here are a few of our favorite highlights from the month!
John Deere Classic
One of our favorite weeks of the year is always the John Deere Classic! From participating in the Big Dig and Youth Day to serving ice cream throughout the tournament, it’s an incredible opportunity to connect with our community.
This year, we also introduced the John Deere Classic Chipper, an exclusive treat available only on the course. It was a huge hit, and we loved seeing so many golfers and fans enjoy this special limited-time creation!
National Ice Cream Day
July is National Ice Cream Month, and National Ice Cream Day was celebrated on July 19. Of course, we don’t need an excuse to enjoy ice cream—but if there ever was a perfect day to grab a scoop, this is it!

Whitey’s MemoriesShared
The Quad-City Times and The Dispatch/Argus invited readers to share their favorite Whitey’s Ice Cream memories, and we were overwhelmed by the response. From childhood traditions to celebrating life’s biggest milestones, it was heartwarming to read how Whitey’s has been part of so many special moments through the years.
The Bix 7 is another summer tradition we look forward to every year. For decades, Whitey’s has been waiting at the finish line with popsicles for runners, and this year was no different!
Between the Bix 7 and the Junior Bix, our team handed out nearly 10,000 popsicles to participants. We also had two Whitey’s teams take on the Brady Street Sprints, making it a fun and memorable weekend for everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who made July such an incredible month. We love being part of these Quad Cities traditions and look forward to making even more sweet memories together this summer!

Today marks the 40th year that Whitey’s has hosted Cones for Kids benefiting @bethany4cf. Stop by any of our nine locations today, June 22, for a scoop (or two) of ice cream, and half of the proceeds will be donated to Bethany! Bethany is a non-profit child welfare and social services provider helping local children and families.
Summer nights mean the return of summer hours! Stores are now open from 10:00am – 10:00pm every night of the week with the exception of our Eldridge location (11:00am-9:00pm).
