The August Treats of the Month are Peach Cobbler Shakes and Blueberry Muffin Shakes!

We were too excited about both of these shakes, so decided to have two Treats of the Month for August! Both shakes will be the price of a Regular Shake for the month.

The Peach Cobbler Shake features peach flavoring, a sugar cone and cinnamon. The Blueberry Muffin Shake is blueberry and cake batter flavoring! Get one of these shakes at our stores today!

Excited to share that we are coming out with a new Dairy-Free flavor, Dairy-Free Fruit Delight! It is a dairy-free frozen dessert made with coconut cream, strawberries and pineapple.

This refreshing flavor has the traditional creamy texture of regular ice cream and will be available at all of Whitey’s Ice Cream locations starting Wednesday, July 6.

It will be available in dips, sundaes and hand-packed quarts and pints. Each dip (in a dish or as a Sundae) is $0.50 extra per dip on top of our regular prices.

The other dairy-free options available at Whitey’s Ice Cream include Smoothies, Popsicles and Slush.

Enjoying a scoop of a Quad Cities’ tradition will help local kids and families in need.  Whitey’s Ice Cream will donate half the sales of all cones sold on Monday, June 20, 2022 to benefit the programs and services at Bethany for Children & Families. This is the 36^th year of “Cones for Kids”, and the annual event is one of the agency’s largest community fundraisers.

All Whitey’s locations will participate, in effort to further Bethany’s mission of keeping children safe, strengthening families, and building healthy communities.

“We are very happy to be holding the 36^th annual Cones for Kids event to help support the programs and services offered by Bethany,” said Jon Tunberg, co-owner of Whitey’s Ice Cream. “We are thankful that we have been able to host to this fundraising effort to support the children of our community for so many years.”

Christina McNamara-Schmidt, Bethany’s Director of Development & Communication, said, “Bethany relies on generous local businesses so our caseworkers, educators, and therapists can help local kids and families in need.  Cones for Kids is a special day for the agency and the children we serve,” she said.

“Bethany is a fantastic cause and the support shown by the Quad City community has been amazing over the years. We are proud to continue the tradition,” said Jeff Tunberg, co-owner of Whitey’s Ice Cream.

Office Assistant

• Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm (varies based season/availability)
• Job Description: Help with administrative duties in the corporate office. Assist with various data entry tasks, HR tasks and support office staff in daily duties as requested. Looking for someone with a can-do attitude who is highly organized with the ability to multitask and track multiple workflows simultaneously. A professional and pleasant demeanor with customer service experience is a plus. Looking for someone to help with the organization and running of the daily administrative operations of the company.
• Requirements:
  • Minimum qualifications: High school diploma. Associates/Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not a requirement.

Stock Truck Driver + Stocker

• Full Time
• Hours: Monday-Friday 5:00am – 1:00pm (varies based on day/season)
• Job Description: Our Stock Truck Drivers and Stockers provide our eight Quad City stores with the items needed to operate and serve the best ice cream to customers. The team delivers the stores’ orders twice a week and the stock team is responsible for pulling orders from our warehouse and unloading the orders at each of the stores. Team members must have strong attention to detail to pull the correct items and quantities indicated on the order forms and must be able to work in a team environment. The team performs various warehouse duties to receive and verify incoming materials, maintain stock area and prepare orders.
• Requirements:
  • Class C license – or willingness to get required license
  • Stand and walk for 8+ hours a day with the ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, and carry boxes and products (lift up to 50lbs)
  • Must be able to perform simple math and count correctly
  • Clean driving record, ability to pass DOT drug test.

Manufacturing Plant Employee

• Full Time
• Hours: Monday-Friday 5:00am – 1:00pm (varies based on day/season)
• Job Description: Whitey’s has been a leading manufacturer of quality ice cream since 1933 and we pride ourselves on a safe and enjoyable workplace. With quality at the forefront, employees work in a fast-paced environment assisting in the production of all ice cream products sold in our retail stores and through wholesale.
