We are thrilled to announce two brand new Dairy-Free flavors made with an innovative and delicious dairy-free base new at Whitey’s! Dairy-Free Lemon Poppy Seed and Dairy-Free Mint Chocolate Cookie are both created with pea protein and mixed with the best ingredients. These new flavors are rich with a creamy texture that is amazingly similar to our normal, premium ice cream!

The pea protein mix is allergen free. Dairy-Free Mint Chocolate Cookie contains soy and wheat. Dairy-Free Lemon Poppy Seed is allergen free. For a full statement on allergens at Whitey’s Ice Cream, please visit the link here.

Pea protein boasts a subtle flavor profile compared to coconut cream which we previously used for a dairy-free ice cream alternative. This offers a more neutral base for many different flavor profiles. A description of both flavors follows:

Dairy-Free Lemon Poppy Seed – A creamy frozen dessert made with pea protein, mixed with the perfect blend of lemon and sprinkled with poppy seeds.

Dairy-Free Mint Chocolate Cookie – A creamy mint frozen dessert made with pea protein, mixed with a minty-chocolate cookie revel and packed with chunks of OREO®.

This flavor has the traditional creamy texture of regular ice cream and will be available at all of Whitey’s Ice Cream locations starting Sunday, February 1, 2026.

We are excited to announce that our second Bettendorf location is OPENING TODAY!!! This brand new store is located at 3491 Forest Grove Drive and will open at 10:00am on Monday, January 12, 2026! We are thrilled to welcome you to this beautiful, new Whitey’s Ice Cream!

A few things to know about this new store:

• Drive-Thru: We have updated our drive-thru system for this new location. We will now have three drive-thru windows, the first two designed to take orders and the third on the opposite side of the building for order pickup!
• Dry Ice: Our Glen Grove location will have dry ice available for sale. Ask the store manager or supervisor for details.
• Entering the Store: Guests can enter the Glen Grove development on Rainforest Drive off either Forest Grove Drive or Devils Glen Road.
• Menu: This location will feature all of your favorite flavors, the only menu change will be that this store does not have a soda machine, so we are unable to offer pop, pop floats, sodas or freezes.

The store was built as a partnership with Geifman Group. The new location was announced on June 13, 2025 with the groundbreaking taking place on June 30, 2025. The last Whitey’s Ice Cream store that opened was our Eldridge location in January 2017. Prior to that, our last free-standing, new build store was our East Moline location, which opened in 2008.

We have been training our Glen Grove employees at our original Bettendorf location since May 2025 and they are excited to work at their new home store. We expect to have between 35-50 employees employed at this store depending on the season. HAPPY NEW YEAR! For our January Treat of the Month we are brining out two fan-favorite flavors, Red Velvet Cake Ice Cream and Honey Comb Crunch Ice Cream!

Red Velvet Cake Ice Cream is a decadent, white chocolate ice cream filled with cream cheese frosted, red velvet cake pieces made in our very own kitchens. Honeycomb Crunch is vanilla ice cream full of chocolate honeycomb pieces and rippled with a caramel swirl.

Pick up either of these delicious flavors at any of our Quad City stores today!

Make sure to plan ahead – our stores will be closing on Christmas Eve at 4:00 p.m. and will be closed on Christmas day!

Also, our stores will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, December 31) and will be opening at 12:00p.m. on New Year’s Day, (Thursday, January 1).
