CURFEW

Hours for week of June 1

We are sorry to disappoint, but due to curfew in the Quad Cities we are going to shut down the drive thru line at 7:30pm at all stores. We are doing this to ensure that our employees can get home before 9:00pm.

Although curfew has been lifted, we are going to be closing our drive-thru lines at 9:00pm on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6. We have a lot of younger employees and just want to ensure everyone makes it home safely!

Thank you for your understanding!

Stores Closed on Mondays

For the next few weeks all of our stores will be closed on Mondays only. Due to the amazing demand all locations have seen since reopening, we have made the decision to close once a week to give our employees a much-deserved break. We will also be using Monday to ensure all of our stores are deep-cleaned and ready for the week ahead! This will be going into effect starting this Monday, June 1.

Details on our hours at each store can be found here.

Our drive-thru stores (41st Street in Moline, East Moline, Bettendorf and Eldridge) will operate as per usual. The remaining stores are outlined below:

  • We will not be selling cones at this time. It is next to impossible to hand over a customer’s cone without contact with the employee so no cones will be sold. It will be cups only or Waffle Bowls (for $1.00 extra).
  • There will be one or two employees assigned to handle the register at all times. No one else will handle payment.
  • During busy times, there will be an employee outside handling traffic. If you have any questions prior to ordering, ask the employee in the vest or check our website for the menu.
  • All surfaces, doors, high traffic areas will be cleaned regularly, with an employee designated for that purpose alone during busy times.

We are so excited to be back and doing what we love, serving the Quad Cities the best in the Midwest!

Flavor Contest Winner… Monster Cookie!

Exciting news… the flavor contest winner was MONSTER COOKIE submitted by Abby Barkema!

We know there is a lot going on in the world right now and that our stores are temporarily closed, but we wanted to share some good news with all of you! This flavor will be available in our stores sometime this summer and will be a peanut butter ice cream with chunks of peanut butter oatmeal cookies, chocolate chips and M&M’s!

As a reminder, the final four flavors were Monster Cookie (submitted by Abby Barkema), Pineapple Upside Down Cake (submitted by Amanda Reed), Cinnamon Roll (submitted by Debra McKenzie) and Peanut Butter & Jelly (submitted by Steven Crew).  As a reminder, there were multiple suggestions for each of the final four flavors and the first entry submitted, how it will be made, was chosen as per the official rules.

Voting ran from Monday, March 9 through Sunday, March 15 and Monster Cookie won 46% of the 4,127 votes.

Stay tuned to our social channels for more details on when the flavor will be available and thank you all for participating!

Stores Temporarily Closed

With our stores temporarily closed, we just wanted to take a minute to thank all of our wonderful customers who came and waited in line the past two days to get their Whitey’s fix and stock up! Words cannot express how deeply grateful we are for your support.

Keep checking back to our company updates and on our social channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) for more updates and announcements when we plan to reopen.

Also a huge thanks goes out to our fantastic employees who worked tirelessly to keep the lines moving the best we could and serve the best ice cream, to the best customers.

For those wondering, our employees will continue to be paid during this time of shutdown. Additionally, Whitey’s will still be available in the grocery stores. Find more information on our grocery store business here.

We are beyond touched by all the support we’ve received. Thank you all and we will see you soon!

Stores Temporarily Closing Starting Friday, April 3

As of ‪Friday, April 3 at 10:00 p.m.‬ all Whitey’s stores will be closing temporarily. As much as we would love to stay open and continue serving the Quad Cities, we are closing out of an abundance of caution to ensure that our employees are staying healthy and safe at home during this time.

This does not affect Whitey’s availability at grocery stores at this time. Shipping ice cream via FedEx through our website will also be temporarily shut down during this time.

The decision to close was not an easy one and we know the road ahead is uncertain, but we want to thank you all for your constant support over the years.

We will continue to provide updates on our social channels and website, so stay tuned! But in the meantime, we hope everyone stays safe and healthy and that we will be back to doing what we love, serving you ice cream, very soon!

Coronavirus and Drive-Thru Update – March 23

Given the Coronavirus pandemic taking place we have made additional changes in how our stores operate. All stores will now be drive-thru only! Four of our stores already offered a drive-thru option, but we have now created drive-thru lanes at the 16th St. store in Moline, Rock Island store, Locust St. store and 53rd St. store in Davenport. Here how each store is going to work:

16th Street Store in Moline: The order stand is set up by the door closer to Hungry Hobo. Please pull up in the line that is placed on the front parking spots in line with the store.

16th Street

Rock Island Store: Come in around the patio from the side where Hungry Hobo is and you will be waited on at the side door. Employees will guide you were to go while waiting for your order.

Rock Island

53rd Street in Davenport: Pull into the line around the patio and the order will be taken at the side door. After ordering/paying you will either veer left (if your order is done) or pull to the right down the alley and your order will be brought out to you through the backdoor.

53rd Street

Locust Street Store in Davenport: The line will be formed around the store starting closer to Marquette Street. The orders will be taken/filled on the side of the store closer to Subway/Grinders/Little Caesars.

Locust St

The stores will have normal hours for the time being and employees will be on hand to answer any questions and help guide traffic. For hours and addresses, check out each location here. Thank you for your support during this time!
