Fan favorite flavor Mint Cookie Crunch is back in stores starting February 19, 2019!

This delicious flavor is mint ice cream mixed with a minty chocolate cookie revel and packed with OREO® cookies. Stop by one of our nine Quad City locations and try this flavor out – you won’t be disappointed! 

Due to extreme weather conditions expected this week, our hours are changed as follows:

Monday, January 28 – 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Tuesday, January 29 – 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday, January 30 – CLOSED
Thursday, January 31 – 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Our locations at North Park Mall and Coral Ridge Mall will remain open with the current operating hours.

It’s the New Year and two flavors are returning to our stores to kick off 2019. Red Velvet Cake and Coffee Toffee will be available again starting on January 4, 2019 at all of our ten locations.

RED VELVET CAKE – White chocolate flavored ice cream with cream cheese frosted homemade red velvet cake.

COFFEE TOFFEE – Coffee flavored ice cream with Heath bar pieces and a fudge swirl.

Whitey’s has introduced two new items this year just in time for holiday gift-giving.

Whitey’s Tree Ornament:

This red ornament with the white Whitey’s logo is shatter-proof and perfect for an ice cream lover’s tree! They are available in-store and online for $4.99.

Whitey’s Gift Bundle:

This perfect and easy gift includes a Whitey’s ceramic coffee cup, a Whitey’s tree ornament and a $5.00 gift card for Whitey’s Ice Cream. Pre-wrapped for easy gift-giving! These are also available in-store and online for $15.95.

Additionally, we have a variety of additional Whitey’s merchandise items available in our stores and online in our shop.

Whitey’s Ice Cream’s classic Chipper was awarded top prize at the 2018 World Dairy Expo in the Ice Cream Sandwich category. The Chipper, which is Chocolate Chip Ice Cream in between two homemade chocolate chip cookies, received a composite score of 99.9, which made it the first-place winner.

This contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, is the only judging contest of its kind in North America, since no other national contest includes all dairy products. Judging was held on August 21-23 at MATC Culinary Arts School in Madison, WI. The winners were announced on October 2 at World Dairy Expo in Madison.

Pumpkin is back at Whitey’s Ice Cream! Our Pumpkin Ice Cream is popular across the country and is made with our special recipe. The recipe is Norma Tunberg’s very own pumpkin pie recipe. There are several ways to try our Pumpkin including dips, shakes, yogurt, etc. Be sure to try them all before fall is over!

An exciting weekend is about to commence here in the Quad Cities with the annual Bix7 and RAGBRAI both taking place downtown Davenport.

The Bix7 kicked off last night with the annual Brady Street Sprints. Team Whitey’s Ice Cream won the sponsor sprints for the second year in a row! Huge congrats to team members Katie Platt, Michael Alfinson, Andrew Wright and Keith Picolet. Check out their win here:

The Daily Meal takes ice cream almost as seriously as we do, and their “talented team of travel and food editors, writers, and contributors who have traveled extensively, taste-testing ice cream in all corners of the world” have named Whitey’s Ice Cream as one of “The World’s 50 Best Ice Cream Parlors“. Whitey’s came in at #17 with some of our new and summer flavors featured.

According to their website, they “started with a list of 150 ice cream parlors and shops and whittled the list down via a scoring system that evaluated establishments based on six factors: recipe and preparation; ingredients (freshness, lack of additives, etc.); taste and texture; originality and creativity; ambiance, service, and experience; and acclaim (critical and overall popularity with locals and visitors alike).”
